Stella Di Mare International Pro-Am 2010

the team of Robert Green, Paul, Greg Spoor and Trevor Leacock.

The fantastic resort of Stella Di Mare hosted its first international pro-am on 12-19th April 2010, with teams from the USA, Sweden, UK, Egypt and Denamrk making it a truly international event.

Day one saw our team start brightly with a birdie, birdie start from me which then went horribly wrong at the next! However the team contnued the form with another birdie and on the 4th Trevor hit the shot of the week and scored a hole - in - one!!!
The good golf continued and we shot -9 for the day.

Day two was a similar day and another score of -9 was shot. Some good play from Robert and Greg helped to keep the score ticking over nicely to leave us on 18 under going in to the final day.

Day three and the team were fantastic all day with birdies and pars flowing we bettered the first 2 days scores to shoot -15 and finish in -33 for the tournament. No more holes in one but birdies and nett eagles were the order of the day.

A great tournament was had by all and a big thanks to KBR who sponsored the team and the event.

The team of Paul Redman, Phil Sykes, Paul and Chris Lemmon prepare to take to the course.

19-21 November 2009 saw the third staging of the annual Taba Heights International Pro-Am tournament. The immaculately presented course welcomed 35 teams for a total 140 competitors from countries as far afield as South Africa, Australia, England, Sweden and Greece, our team was ready for battle and drawn out 2nd last.

Day one started poorly as the wind had increased as the day went on and we played in the toughest conditions. A double bogey 6 was a disasterous start for me, but the team rallied for 4 points. Birdies at 2 and 7 brought me back to level par and after Chris's Birdie - Eagle on 9 and 10 we were looking good. As the light dropped and the wind increased we battled and were unable to complete the round due to the light. We returned at 05.45 am to complete the 18th for a team score of 76 points and I finished with 73 (+1) in the individual tournament.

Day two and after our early start the team failed to catch up the ground on the leaders. We were hoping for the better of the wind conditions but unlike day one, the day started windy and but dropped after lunch in a comlete reversal. After my score of 74(+2) and a team score of 77 we expected to move up the leaderboard but with the wind dropping scores improved and the team stayed the same and I dropped to 5th.

Day three and the teams went out with the leaders playing last. We had a time in the middle of the field but were too far back to challange the leaders. Again the wind eased as the day went on to favour the leaders and after several missed putts on the front 9 I had dropped my individual position and had to iprove in the back 9 to finish in the top 10. Rallying for a level par back 9 I finished the tournament with 73, 74, 76 and a final position of 8th.
