Ulverston Golf Club saw a 1-2 finish from Junior Golfers George Ambrose and Josh Carr. George won the competition with a fantastic 65 nett and Josh was 2nd with 71-5-66

 

A good scoring weekend say Will Marklew shoot a 68 gross at Barrow Golf Club in the Pro's Prize. Will has continured his development and is hoping for a call up to the England u-16 squad.

Alex Walker claimed both the Ulverston Junior Open Girls Trophies with an 85 gross and 68 nett. Leading the field in both categories, gross and nett is a deserved reward for Alex and the practice she has put in during the last 12 months.

Jamie Forbes was the proud winner of the North Lonsdale Hospital Cup recently. One of the oldest tournaments in the Furness area, the trophy was donated by the doctors of the old North lonsdale Hospital and played from by the local GPs. Jamie scored a tremendous 29 points in terrible conditions to win.

All the hard winter practice paid dividends for Phil Sykes as he carded a 66 to win the Rover Cup at Barrow Golf Club. With regualr coaching and a winter trip to Taba Heights behind him Phil continued the great play and took the trophy and a handicap reduction also. Well done!

Congratulations to Mark Sedgwick of Dunnerholme Golf Club who with his partner, club President ken Shepherd won the Duddon Inshore Rescue Open at Dunnerholme. Mark and Ken scored a tremendouse 46 points to edge out Club Captain John Walker and Tyrone Currie by one point.

20th-21st

A big well done to Oliver Carr of Ulverston Golf Club who won the Faldo Series qualifier at West Lancs. Oli reduced his andicap to +0.5 with rounds of 71 (-1) 69( -3) for a 140 (-4) total. Oli now progresses to Lough Erne for the Faldo Series final in September and follows past winners such as Rory Mcilroy, Oli Fisher and Ladies World number 1 Yani Tseng.

The first Congrtaulations of the year go to Jamie Broome of Barrow Golf Club, who, along with his partner John Nugent secured the first trophy of the year at barrow - The Porker Trophy.
